I saw you were surprised by the blend file. For those of us who haven't used anything but blender, how would you share your scene in Maya?

I tried Blender and found I hated modeling. I've been learning Houdini and have wondered if I ever have to sit down and learn modeling. Thank you for letting me know that I don't need to be an excellent modeler and can still be creative in this area. Great video.

Why is it "shocking" ? The 4090 has almost double the number of RT cores, and they're from the next generation..... This alone explains the difference in render time. Same for the CUDA cores if your renderer doesn't use Optix.

12:11 - be aware disabling that option it could give you a glitches - it's time dependent! it could release child object in random positions. the best approach is to key constrained child and use creaeted blendWeight attribute to blend between constraint and key values

You can also middle-mouse drag items in the outliner to parent them. I think this is the easiest and most intuitive as you see a visual representation in the outliner.

Problem with laptops is always thermal throttling and you pay more for way less performance you have with a desktop. Currently I have a HP Zbook (older model) and it is okay and I can do 3D (Maya) , except for rendering as it just takes calendar months to render anything, but what I do like is that you actually have a sturdy design, good support and durability ... all these things ASUS and even like an HP Omen produce are always these plastic cheap feeling things that break easily. I have used this machine daily for about 5 years now and only recently I had to replace the keyboard (some keys broke down) , which cost about 50 bucks and I can work again. Obviously it is getting on in age and performance is dropping for creative work, but I can edit in Davinci Resolve as well as do basic 3D and it still feels snappy. So if you're going to buy a laptop, I would advise people to pick a more premium version , be it a ZBook an Apple M3 and forget these cheaper versions that sit in the middle between budget and high end ... as it is often teh worse of both world and not some happy medium.

salve ! this is so inspiring... as execution, but as story... it is not. so my point is the movie looses some of the appeal. it is very beautiful and nicely done, but it feels just like a croissant au sorbet without sweet. why not use a few extra time to devise a really authentic storyline ? it does not need to reveal the pilot of your next game of AI thrones... it can be a simple new movement articulation. I get that the faceless robot saves face animation work, but think a step further: why the robot centre would create robot without face animation ? their eyes do not render in high res ?? slave robots have no emotion to communicate?? perhaps robots use only some radar... I do story development and suggest that a simple answer would make a richer story and movie without extra work. Also know that emotional narratives are reallly difficult to pull off. meanwhile, low cheers from Rio
